Company Information

Why "Sprex"? "Sprex" is a registered trademark of Sprex, Inc. SprexTM means SPeech RECognition and Synthesis. "X" is of course one letter, but it's also two sounds. The invented name, "SprexTM", is a whimsical abbreviation for SPeech RECognition and Synthesis, combining the C and the S sounds into one letter.
Sprex, Inc. was founded in August, 1995, by its CEO, Tom Veatch, a former Stanford professor and expert in speech science and technology.
