Doing business with us
Sprex has done both small projects of a tutorial or introductory
nature for companies new to speech technology, and larger end-product
projects, where we worked as part of our customer's project
development team. These larger projects include a major role in the
successful deployment of speech recognition technology in the
financial services sector, as well as directed research in support of
a major aerospace firm.
Tutorials and short courses are charged at standard consulting rates,
plus expenses, with a $1500/day minimum. Development for feasibility
or research is typically done on a time-and-materials basis.
Fixed-price contracts are also available, after mutual agreement on a
Statement of Work with defined deliverables.
Please email us with your requirements.
Who we are
Thomas C. Veatch, Ph.D.
Sprex relies on the expertise of its technical lead, Thomas C. Veatch,
Ph.D. Dr. Veatch received degrees in Linguistics from Stanford
University and the University of Pennsylvania and has also been a
professor at Stanford. He is fluent in the building of Hidden Markov
model based speech recognition systems. He has strong background in
speech synthesis from perspectives both of technology and of
application development. With long-term technical interests in
computational phonetics, syntax, discourse analysis, and telephony,
his expertise is uniquely broad-based in the science and engineering
fields related to development of speech-based applications.
Interested parties are urged to speak with Dr. Veatch about their
application and how best to achieve their goals.
